For almost three decades, Iosif Ion Prunner has been the conductor of the Choir of the George Enescu Philharmonic. Born into a family of famous musicians (Prunner-Silvestri) associated with the Philharmonic for more than a century, he began studying piano with his father at the age of five. After graduating from the University of Music, he enjoyed a prolific career as a concert pianist and chamber musician both in Romania and internationally, in Germany, Russia, Czechoslovakia, and Switzerland. At the same time, he studied conducting under Constantin Bugeanu and Sergiu Comissiona.

As an orchestra conductor, besides concerts and performances with the George Enescu Philharmonic, the National Radio Orchestra, and the Bucharest National Opera, he has worked with renowned European ensembles, including the Orpheus Choir (San Sebastian), the Capitol Orchestra (Toulouse), and the Russian Philharmonic, appearing in major concert halls around the world.

In his concerts as a pianist, conductor, and choir conductor, he has worked with leading figures in international music, such as Ion Marin, Adrian Erod, Neil Stuart, Dolora Zeijck, Tougan Sukiev, Daniel Barenboim, Pietro Colombara, and Valentin Gheorghiu.
